Josh and Megan were married at Strathmere Lodge in North Gower, surrounded by love, dancing and one unforgettable sunset.
Top five favourite things from their day:
1.) The Maid of Honour. We were lucky enough to photograph Megan’s sister’s wedding in January 2018. To see familiar faces and to know the family dynamics is so special. It’s the biggest compliment to photograph the weddings of past guests or wedding party members!
2.) Firetrucks and Firefighters. Josh is a Firefighter, which meant we got to use an amazing vintage fire truck brought in from the Township of North Gower as a photo prop.
3.) Photos as decoration. I don’t think I need to explain my love for photos. My house is covered in them, just like my high school locker was, my bedroom as a kid was, and my wedding was. I think using photos to decorate a wedding day, like Josh and Megan did, is so personal and beautiful – and it’s also a fun treat for guests to walk down memory lane.
4.) Sunset. We had on and off rain throughout the day which didn’t stop anyone from enjoying it any less. A storm rolled in at the perfect time during dinner giving an intimate vibe to the evening. It also left us with the most amazing pink and purple sky! We popped outside to take advantage and had a blast making portraits in the unique and colourful light.
5.) Josh the break-dancer. Josh was a B-boy from 13-17 years old and a member of the “Foot Soldiers.” He then went on to teach breakdancing to kids in his local community centre for 2 years. Needless to say, he has not lost any of these moves and they came out throughout the night much to everyone’s joy!
